Dump and refill with fresh water daily — don't just top up.

Nozzle self-check (bottle users)

Gently press the ball with a finger and confirm water comes out.
Shake the bottle and listen — a rattling ball means it moves freely.
Check the nozzle and cap for leaks and look for air bubbles in the tube.

Bowl vs bottle

Bowls: a more natural drinking posture and usually higher intake, but easily contaminated.

Bottles: cleaner water, but the ball valve can jam silently.

Assisted hydration for a sick rabbit

Use a needle-free syringe or a small spoon. Give small sips slowly at the corner of the mouth.

If your rabbit refuses water for more than 12 hours, or also stops eating, contact an exotic-animal vet immediately.

See a vet when

Diarrhea or soft stool plus poor drinking for 12+ hours
Noticeably less urine, or urine turning dark yellow / orange
Skin tent test: pinched neck skin takes over 2 seconds to spring back
Sunken eyes, or gums that feel dry and tacky
